Marco Cedrone is a Principal at CMF Real Estate.  Over the course of the last 25 years, he has held positions at almost every discipline in the industry.  His unique well rounded experience, allows him to combine technical disciplines, with business sense, to make prudent investments and advise clients. 

​

Prior to CMF Real Estate, Marco was the Chief Development Officer at Student Quarters where he built the company's platform from concept to execution from 2019-2025. In his role, he was responsible for deal sourcing structuring, financial and market analysis, preparing executive investment committee memorandums and participating in fundraising for the platform. Marco oversaw the design & construction of the development platform, while also deploying his diverse skill set on an acquisition pipeline of 3B, and an existing managed portfolio of over 1.5B AUM.

As a Managing Director at Kayne Anderson Real Estate Advisors, Marco helped expand the business from 130M Fund to over 8B AUM in Debt and Equity Real Estate Funds from 2011 to 2019.

 

Marco cut his teeth in general contracting in NYC, when he worked as a Superintendent / Project Manager at Bovis Lend Lease, building ground up and renovating active hospitals from 2008-2011. At Michilli Inc, he renovated high end retail and condo's across the country as a Superintendent, Estimator and Project Manager from 2006 to 2008.   

 

At McCarter English LLP in Boston, MA, Marco was a Construction Litigation Paralegal and learned the value of construction contracts, AIA documents and other legal instruments on cases such as, The Mass Convention Center, and The I-93 Central Artery Tunnel (The Big Dig) from 2004-2006. 

 

A student of Architecture, Marco worked at Kao Design Group from 2003-2004 helping the architecture firm with CAD drawings for Custom Homes, Office Buildings, and Churches.

Marco was also a Carpenter for a home builder while studying Architecture and Economics at Tufts University. 

 

A graduate of Tufts University in 2004, Marco also studied architecture in Florence Italy with Syracuse University, completed Commercial Real Estate Finance program through Columbia University, was a 4 year Varsity Lettermen for Tufts Men's Lacrosse and graduated with Dean's List Honors. Marco is conversational in both Spanish and Italian and enjoys his work in the field as much as in front of a proforma.

His unique background let's him view investments and projects through multiple lenses, which results in faster resolutions and the ability to execute across the spectrum of needs in the industry.  â€‹
